For those that have done this conversion a few questions> did you have to relocate the engine perches? If you did how was it done and how far forward or back were they moved? Were you able to use the existing perches or did you get them out of a donor?
Truck currently has a 352.
Thx.

Re: 302 engine install question
You will need different towers.
Easiest solution is a "pull ur own" junkyard, find a 67-79 with a Windsor and take the towers, trans X member, even the driveshaft will help.
Get all engine brackets etc. as you specific swap requires. If you find a donor with disc brakes it would be a good time to grab that stuff too, just grab the whole front suspension, proportioning valve and swap it all out while it's apart and the engine is out of the way.
Some of this will vary depending on the source for your 302, it is a fresh mill or did you pull it from something.
The year and version (is it a Roller Cam engine from a 5.0 Mustang?) can make some difference too.
I'm a straight axle guy - I am sure I forgot something and someone else will help.

Re: 302 engine install question
I put a 351w in my 63 and bought a 50$ tubular cross member and centered it up and welded it in, but I don't know about 65-66 though. Looks extremely Clean

Re: 302 engine install question
My '66 has a 351W. I moved the 6 cyl. mounts back to the other holes and it bolted right in. I used a 5 speed M5R2 trans and had to move the stock (4speed) X member a few inches and drill new holes in the frame. The shifter comes up through the same hole in the floor as the farmer 4 did.
Some "experts" said that I should have used 460 towers so I found some. They are identical to the six banger ones.
