Post by s281scsaleen »

Hello everyone my name is Jason from NC. I am currently building a 1965 sb and so far I have got a 03 PI complete running car on the cheap and drove it in the shop runs good and can't wait to get started on ripping the body off. I have already done a front end swap it went awesome. This is a great forum just joined and am looking forward to all help and information

What part of NC are you in. I am from Shelby (45min west of Charlotte). I'm building a '61/'64 Flareside with a CV front end.

I got the car driving and it runs out great so it going under the knife. The wife thinks I'm crazy chopping up a perfectly good car. But she is very supportive. I started by gutting the interior and wiring and labeling everything. Then I used my trusty saws all and cut it in half saving only the floor pan and firewall I may use the pans and firewall???? Anyway so far so good. The wiring looks very intimidating. Hope to get the cab, bed and front end off the 65 and start fitting to the cv soon

No! this swap is way to easy to swap the floors and all of that stuff. Just unbolt it and bolt it in the truck. Trust me I have tried swapping the floors on a different car 9/10 it just doesnt look right.
I live us near Hickory, NC if you want to see what it looks like. I have the frame done and working on the wiring now.

charlie's right. unless your floors are just shot to hell and your using the vic floors to remedy that, mounting the front/rear from the donor is less work. but yeah you shelby fellas orta ride up here to the hickory area charlie is doing the vic swap and i'm doing jag xjs swap in my '62 unibody. sounds like a good bit of custom slick swaps going on in the area and maybe we all need to feed off each other...Ken....
