I replaced the dimmer switch and still continue to blow a fuse. I have not checked my ground on the headlights yet. Would there be any other reason?
Thanks.

Re: Dimmer switch blowing fuse
Headlamps are on a circuit breaker. High beam indicator light is fused. Which fuse are you blowing?

I don't think there are breakers in the trucks originally. I'd suspect a short somewhere in the circuit. You'll have to trace and isolate. I bought a laminated wiring diagram to use for troubleshooting which really helps. You could use an ohmmeter at the plug to the dimmer switch and see if any of the wires have low resistance to ground. If you find one, you can then trace it looking for cracked insulation.

Re: Dimmer switch blowing fuse
I installed a new wiring harness from Rebel wire. Maybe I should call those guys. It is fused. It's the fuse that operates all of my lights.
Re: Dimmer switch blowing fuse
If you have the original light switch the circuit breaker is integral with it. It would take a rather heavy fuse to operate all lights. If the rebel wire in fact is set up in this manner, and without relays to handle the headlamps, it would quickly get modified to relays in my applications. A fuse heavy enough to handle all lamps including headlamps would offer little protection for taillamp wiring, etc. If relays are included, the dimmer switch should be protected by a dedicated fuse separate from parking/ running lamps.
I would definitely consult Rebel.
