Just An Introduction... And A Few Pics Of RUBY

Post by CM Sackett »

There has been a "slick" in my family since July, 1966. I bought the original from Dad almost 30 years ago... did a frame-off on her 22 years ago... gave the truck to my eldest 2 years ago. I've owned and built 9 others, including 2 Unibodies w/BBG.

I picked this little jewel up in December, for my daily driver (I do turnarounds at refineries and chem plants... 91hrs a week, 5-8 months straight at a time. Just don't have the time to go through one completely anymore). I've done a bit to her, as the pics will show, on down.

But here is my latest, RUBY.

Like mentioned, I have done a good bit to her since these photos, including the GV O/D, MSD module, Edelbrock 750, old-school spray vinyl top, new WL tires, etc.

I also have a complete new interior to install soon (seats and console from '65 Tbird... new 'factory' door panels with brand new chrome... 3M Dinock "Bubinga" for the lower dash/edge of door panels, center valley of body side chrome... hence the "SQUIRE" badging).

Here is a recent photo, coming home from a project in KS...

Looks great! Someone has gone to some effort to hide that radio antenna!

I like the tonneau cover, I see the press studs aren't attached to the top of the bed, does it have a frame or something?

Evenin' Leeroy,

Yessir, the antenna was frenched, and the gas neck was shaved (30gal tank in bed, up against cab).

The tonneau is mounted on a dura-clamp boxed aluminum frame.

She also has power door locks and a full alarm system.

 glad to be here, fellas.

I joined several years back (moniker based on that first truck -above- "Ol' Yeller"). Life got severely in the way for a while... but she climbed on her broom and headed out.

I do have a couple more, still at the old home place...
