Ever seen a Slick in a Skirt?

Post by Gritsngumbo »

Looked at an "interesting" slick yesterday by the side of the road near my house. Sweet little 65 F100 with every gaudy accessory known to man on it. Hood ornament off a 50's era car, cab lights, bumper guards, fog lights, spotlights (which were ok) chrome bulb horns above the spots, bed rails, big ass toolbox and FENDER SKIRTS.

Never had seen a slick with skirts (had seen earlier trucks with skirts). These appeared to be 50-51 Ford car skirts if memory serves.

Seemed like basically a solid little truck, but most of that crap would have to go.
Called the owner on the phone and he said he had bought it to fix up, but it was going to cost more than he anticipated so decided to just sell.

Asked the price.
$3,500!

Picked myself up out of the dirt enough to ask how he had arrived at that price and he told me that's what he paid for it. I politely thanked him and drove away.

$1,000 tops, IF the cab mounts weren't rusty (which I suspect they are since the 3 spd column shift had been replaced with a floor shift. Did have a nice original dealer-installed "Rivers Ford, Monroe Louisiana" rear bumper similar to the one on Little Red.

Nope, I never saw a Slick wearing skirts before.... I'll have to say I prefer NO SKIRT!

Yep, too much overall bling for my tastes.....

Also a first for me, I can't say I've ever seen a Slick (or even any vehicle for that matter)
wearing a collection of THREE different hub caps at the same time!

The bike horn is a nice touch. :

I really like how the bead rails seem to go into the tool box, genius, Barris could not have done better.
I can drive it home with one headlight.
