i think its just the fat tires that make it look that way.
i prefer tall skinny tires myself for the same reason plus they are much easier to steer with manual steering.

I like the look, but on a driver I like the wheels tucked inside the fenders. Paint doesnt last long when it gets blasted from tire debris.
I seem to remember that in Oregon the state requires that no part of the tire sticks out past the body. If it does its a good excuse to be pulled over and ticketed.

It does tend to mess up the fenders and paint, but hey, Ford charges around $1200.00 extra to fake that look on the (c)Raptor
