What Do We Call This One?

Post by Rix63 »

My first post/thread on this site. I was headed to the dentist today in Monroe, WA and barely got a phone pic of this truck. Do we call it a 4x4x4?

These pics were taken at the Portland swap meet last year. I was going to talk with the owner but he was talking with a potential buyer at the time so I had to move on without getting a word with him. It is diesele powered also but I didnt get a chance to ask what kind. Im not to up on them so I couldnt discern that. It was a very solid truck and I believe he was asking $18,000 for it then. Maybe he sold it to someone up in Washington state.

I believe it was running Dodge power and running gear. If you look at the front differential it is on the oposite side that the Ford front end would be. But hey that was almost a year ago and I didnt have a chance to talk with the owner on it. Im pretty sure thats what he was asking for it who knows what it actually sold for. It was a very solid truck with no rust that I could discern. I guess it depends on how bad you want a Crew 4wd slick. If you can find a beat up old railroad or forest service crew in 61-66 years you probably would have to spend almost that much or more to restore it just my 2cents worth.

If its running Cummins diesel power its a Dodge for sure.

As far as the 18k, if you remember its an "investment"!

I talked with the owner at the swap meet. It was a cummings and the inside still needed some tlc. He was pretty firm on the price. He also had two other 2door slicks that were for sale. Personally not impressed but I could not do as much.

Thanks for the info on it Ross. As you can see by the time stamp on my pic it was getting late afternoon and I had to keep moving and he was wheeling and dealing with someone on the truck. Im hoping to get to meet you down there this year. Im going to get an earlier start this time I didnt realize the size of that meet.

at 200K miles they are just getting broke in.
the guy in charge of the local water service was here yesterday in his 98 dodge 1 ton ,he said 228K and runs as good as the day it was new.
very hard to find cummins diesels that are affordable.

Was teh body transplanted?

The track is way to wide for the body.

I like the look, but on a driver I like the wheels tucked inside the fenders. Paint doesnt last long when it gets blasted from tire debris.

I seem to remember that in Oregon the state requires that no part of the tire sticks out past the body. If it does its a good excuse to be pulled over and ticketed.
