Don't see a 61 CC BBW SWB Uni everyday.
This doesn't look too bad (still a little high on the money though).
I could probably look it over for someone.

Well if he cut the price in half it might almost be worth looking at but theres alot of rust there for that price at $1000.00 it would be worth looking at .

You can almost be assured that the torque box is rusted out by looking at the left side view as well as front cab mounts (major repairs). It does have a decent looking tailgate (from the pics) which is a big plus, also the BBW and the chrome grill. I'd say no more than $1,500 if it's running and driving and has a good title.
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

torque box likely filled up with junk over the years,as no one ever cleaned the drain holes out and the sides are now rusting from inside.
when i did the cab floor repair on my 61 i found lots of dirt in there,

We need to figure out a way to fix these rusted torque boxes. Many Uni's have gone to scrap because of this issue. At a body shop in Germany I saw a old Mercedes that was supported by the roof on 4x4's and jacks. Entire floor was gone and a new replacement available from Mercedes was being installed. I think we can do better and save a few more Uni's. IMHO! And if this one was closer I'd likely own it at 2500-3000.

They can be fixed, you can build a new torque box to replace the old one, but it requires a lot of work. One of our members did a very nice job on building a new torque box, but I'll have to find it. I plan to use his plans to build one for my long uni, when I get back to it.

Update: I found the name of the member who built the torque box, it's mercman64

I filled up a large shop vac with the rusted flakes and other debris inside the torque box on my Uni.

looks like all the inny wheels are still there as well as an unhacked dash.bed floor does look pretty clean and flat.
$4K is high, $2200-2500 would be ok if you could drive it home.

It does look like the same truck, is it the way the pictures were taken or does it look like the body is twisted as by the rear pics?

I thought it also looked a litte twisted, high on the driver side bed rail. Cool truck with nice patina if it isnt rotted out underneath, The torq box looks worse than you would expect from looking at the rest of it!

Torque box isn't really that complicated of a piece - all flat sections with breaks.
Getting access to it - now there is a different subject...................
As well optioned as it is and being the first year, still a really cool truck.
