Old dog sniffin down a new trail

Post by Limestone66 »

Hey guys, brand new to the community and eager to learn. Limestone here, representing my newest flame in the form of a very neglected, if not, abused 1966 Ford F250 LB. The moment i laid my eyes on this old girl i fell in love with her. She had everything i needed to pull a camper. Thats gonna be my next project. Getting a camper for me and my bride and go camping. This is a completely different scenario with me. Owning a truck like this after nearly forty years of ridin the iron and fixin this old girl up. The bikes has been a big thing with me since the early part of the seventies, until one fateful day i was out makin a delivery with the company i work for and ran across this old farm truck with a 'For Sale' sign perched atop the dashboard behind a cracked windshield. Didn't have the time to stop my rig and check it out, but made it a point that comin weekend, so i jumped on my bike and rode seventy miles to check this old girl out. Buzzards had been feeding on her for quite some time, removing all of her precious medallions and emblems, including her stainless steel stripings and custom cab script. It broke my heart seeing such a magnificent old truck like this sittin out there in a field and laying to waist. I had to save her. So after diggin deep into my pockets and using what limited resources i had, i bought her for $2500 bucks and actually drove her home.
Big Block 352fe with the NP435 4-spd gear box, Dana 60 axle with the standard {as i were told} 4.10 gear ratio. OMG, this old girl will pull a house down. Perfect for pullin an antique or classic camper. This is not my first rodeo boys, i've also owned a 61 unibody that i sold for a grand back in a day, but still have very warm and memorable memories of how these old trucks run. They are nothing like the trucks they have nowadays. Anyways, i just wanted to introduce myself along with this old truck of mine, to add, edit, post some pictures of her and generally have a lot of fun with other people i can relate to. Not here for games, only to listen and learn. I live in central Florida and welcome all response.

It continually amazes me how well these trucks hold up ! And we all know how little Ford ever did to support them sheet metal wise ...... still no doors , hoods box sides etc. and yet they are still out there on the road looking good.
