Seat recovered...finally

Post by f100jim »

Well after about 4 years having the material for my 65,I finally got it done.Kind of a long story on that, but better late than never. The upholsterer done what I think is a great job on it . He actually took the old original seat cover apart by the stitches and used the original panels for patterns. Anyway thought some would enjoy some pics.ImageImageImage

Very nice. The PO put the plain red vynal cover on mine and did a half baked job of replacing the foam. Im going to drop mine off at a shop and have then rebuild it. I hope it comes out as nice as yours.

Thanks to all for your kind words. Grits,I have both of those feelings covered :D . I'm going to hang on to the original seat panels cause someone might need a pattern for their seat sometime.

Looks GREAT! Where did you get your material?

I'm going to be making mine, though that part of the project is a ways off... I've done lots of boat upholstery, so hopefully this won't be too different :)

I'd like to know where you got the material too. Can you actually get the vinyl with the emblem embossed? And I'd like to know if Andrew from Hixson TN actually sewed his own. If he did, I might have to travel over from Little Rock and have him do mine.

Thanks GJ. Dan,I got the material from SMS auto fabrics in Canby, Oregon. The embossed header panel came from them also.

Yes-SMS, worked for me too. My favorite part of my truck. mine's a 64, so a little different pattern.
