[quote="Jonas"][quote="Toyz"]Yep, and the way to determine that is to test the circuits. You will not be able to "power from (I) terminal" It'll die when released. Sound familiar?
That is why I told him to connect the run position to the coil also. It would work, not needed but he is getting discouraged.
You do not want to feed back to the (I) terminal while running!
If the Pro-Comp is the One-wire "ready to run" type, you MIGHT get away with your suggestion as to running a single wire. Otherwise, get the wires back to original orientation, then follow Pro-Comp's instructions for installation of the particular model for the particular application. BTW, although I use some ProComp items, it is the least dependable brand you can find. If you have doubts, Google it!

The pink wire is not hooked up, Is it getting hot??? How no path for current?
The positive side of the coil will hook to ignition run and the + input to the procomp. It is simple. No ballast or pink wire.
Only other piece. Ignition start needs to be to "S" terminal on solniod.

I was going by the duraspark diagram, it feeds back during run, I can't see how it would not in any configuration, I do not beleive that is a problem, or that diagram is wrong.

Re: need help on this guys...
Just get the direct ground off the negative terminal of the coil. Unless I'm badly mistaken, coils, and wires, don't care for that very long.
It seems obvious it's NOT a DuraSpark. Lots of difference between ~7 v as against ~14v!

Re: need help on this guys...
Negative side of coil is going to distributor. No ground. As far as I read. I see it sorry. Positive side and negative side of coil goes to distributor. Distributor should have two wires red and black(guessing). Red goes to positive side of coil , Black to negative side of coil. I do not think the truck would start if the negative side of the primary of the coil was goin directly to ground. But I am no expert. So it is okay to feedback on a duarspark but not the procomp why is that? Just curious. It does not go anywhere unless the soliniod is activated, then it 12 vdc, anyway. I'm just trying to help the guy get his truck started.
It needs to be simple. Wiring is overwhelming to people not familiar. He is very close. Start splitting hairs it will make it more difficult than needed.

Re: need help on this guys...
To simplify this.
Ignition Switch Run - Plus Side of Coil (Plus side of coil is also hooked to plus wire on distributer) probally Red.
Ignition Swith Start - "S"Terminal on solinoid. No where else.
Coil to Distributor Plus side coil to plus side distributer
Negative Side of Coil to negative side of distributor. FYI - It should not be directly connected to engine or chassis. Pass of least resitance will be taken. Coil will be active 100% of the time.
Nothing hooked to "I " terminal of soliniod.

Re: need help on this guys...
" he is very close" "...splitting hairs" ? Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but he may be "very close" to serious damage. Coil to ground, starter remains engaged, wire getting hot. Might be a little more complicated diagnosis at this point; let's hope not! Carry on!

Re: need help on this guys...
Fixed....
I found a diagram online for the procomp distributor and coil I had...
I ran a switched 12+ to the coil and disconnected one I had going from the coil stright to the starter solenoid
Turn the key... and the Motor GODS came a live...
There is another slick breathing today boys...

Re: need help on this guys...
Good Job. I'm getting closer on mine. I am using the EZ wiring wireing harness. Hopefully get a little more knocked out tonight.
