64 f100 speedometer cable question

Post by Tigger! »

All,

Does anybody know if my 1964 f100 speedemeter cable will fit/work with a c6 trans? I currently have a 69 c6 trans and have connected but my speedometer doesn't work. The cable was piniched a little so i dont know if that might be the problem. It use to work with the old trans which was not a c6 but also wasn't pinched.

If its not compatible what can I do to get it to work?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

if its been pinched the inner cable will likely not spin and therefore not work.

But the original speedometer cable will work on a c6 even if it didn't come with a c6 originally?

Just want to make sure it's compatible before I buy a new one.

Thanks

if you already put the original cable from the original trans on your c6 and it fit and both ends were the same type of connection then the replacement should fit too.
the cable is 2 pieces the outer sheath and the inner core if the outer part is damaged the inner part wont spin.
