Tyler, Here is a pic of my rollpan I made from the top edge of a bed. I used the top edge of a short bed because they don't have the center post hole pocket. Less to deal with. I measured between the sides at the rear and cut long. Then I made end plates for the pan and the inside of the bed so I could bolt it in. I used fender welting for between the two pieces. Just my preference. I cut the box in for the lisence plate. As for the tailgate, I used the side of the same donor bed to weld over the stock gate. I removed the latch and used seatbelt buckles to hold the gate shut inside.
I did the first rollpan and gate like this. They were not available when I made mine. Like they had mentioned earlier, You can purchase pans now.
Hey, While you are at it. Why not do a bigwindow convertion. I also did that for my son. Just ask and someone will point you in the right direction. I have pics of ours in my photobucket somewhere.
