I had a 1987 Crown Victoria S (as the PI's were called that year).
Rode like a luxury car - cornered like a Mustang.

Long ago, I drove a modded LTD LX ex-DPS vehicle, (one of my few Moredoor vehicles). I had to quit because the local constabulary kept getting complaints of some "officer" drag racing his cruiser on the island's impromptu drag strip.

back in 1977 or around the end of the 70s my dad bought a ltd that was a police car. i dont know too much about it but i remember nothing stock stood a chance aginst it, and not just the motor but the way it handeld.

I second your opinion of this car Greg.
Quiet, smooth. luxurious even in cop-trim but an absolute highway monster. 70 mph to 110 with 0 effort.
I am pulling 19.75 MPG regularly. Mostly highway without babying it. Not great but better than the 14mpg I was getting from the Cherokee.

I found a Grand Marquis in the yard and I have been pulling little stuff off that I am missing. I also grabbed the auto dimming mirror

The best stuff was the under hood trim and trunk carpet
