The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

I think a Slick pulling your grille rig would make a great sales tool. Just make the truck safe & look good.

I don't doubt the F250 would pull your smoker. As for a daily driver, you have several vehicles to choose from in case of poblems.

My biggest concern would be the boys. I really doubt the new style car seats/booster seats would fit very well. They are big and cumbersom. Do you take both boys in the current tow rig and put them both in the front seat?

No they dont go in the front seat. I use my '89 Suburban 3/4t to tow the smoker. I travel up to 450 miles regularly. It is big enough to carry all my supplies and meats/sides. It is my "family wagon/Manvan" and works perfectly for what I need it too....... I think I just answered my own question. But on the other hand, we are going to have to get a handicap accessible van with wheel chair lift sometime in the near future. So the need for the Jeep and the Suburban are going to be no longer. I am gonna need a truck and something to pull the smoker around.
BTW thanks for the props on the smoker, I built the entire thing, trailer and all.

Its too bad you couldn't find a crewcab or a extended cab slick.

Well, today is the day. I am suppose to meet the guy to make the trade/check out each others vehicle.
Like I said before(I think) I want to down size my fleet, have a cool old truck to pull my smoker and take my boys to car shows/criuses in.
Here's what I have now:
1999 Toyota Corolla(wife car)
1993 Jeep Cherokee
1989 Chevy Suburban 3/4t
1977 Ford F250 Supercab
1959 Ford F250
If I do the trade here are my plans......
Keep the 'burb for now as the FAMILY travel/camping wagon and the wifes car as the econobox for local trips. Have the slick as a truck/cruiser/project and eventually tow vehicle for the smoker. The '77 F250 will become the donor for the brakes.power steering for the slick. then the rest will get parted and scrapped. The '59 not too sure what to do with that one.
So now my insurance and registration expenses will drop dramatically... I think the Jeep is the most expensive vehicle on my insurance...I have a clean record and several discounts and am 41 yrs young.
