do you have the pushrods from the 390? I think either one would work, the block and heads are are the same family of engine, but the variations in the heads makes me say to use the pushrods out of that engine.

What casting number is on the 390 heads?
In either case, make sure to have hardened seats put in for your unleaded gas.

Don't forget the oil restrictors while you have it down.

Here's a link to my album.

Pics of my heads with location to put restrictors. The oil hole is 5/16" so I was able to use a 3/8" tap to thread it. I went to the hardware and got some 3/8" allen head screws. I drilled a 3/32" hole in the screws. You can use some Loctite on the threads if you like. It's not a process that requires precision machine work. If any of the guys are in your area, they could show you much better than I describe it. It will keep your valve covers from filling up with oil. Good luck.

Yeah. Not so good. They're smog heads. You might be better off with the original 352 units if you'll put the seats in them.

If its 72 heads how can they be smog? What does that mean? They've already been rebuilt with new valves and valve seats.
