just in case its gets flagged i pasted it in:

In answer to your request of how to deal with the weeds here in Alaska. The answer is quite simple, it is the only solution that works on weeds and is also useful in dealing with Mosquitoes.
A small thermo-nuclear device at about five feet elevation above ground level. One application per day for one week seems to help deal with weeds, while three applications per day for one week is needed for mosquitoes.

after the recent heat wave and a slight rainshower yesterday afternoon the large low flying, biting air force was out with vengeance. bug dope just seems to encourage them to come get high and fly about without landing.

The mosquito is the "state bird" of Louisiana.

One of the nice things about living in a cool (read cold) non humid climate, we don't have to deal with the mosquitos to the extent other areas do. We get them but it's only for a couple of months and then we freeze their little butts.

We use the dry and bake method here. Little bugs dry to a powder as they fly and as they fall they crack the brittle grass. Just sweep up the bug and grass powder as needed.

We actually have "mosquoto" trucls that drive around at night sprewing some concoction. Doesn't seem to bothet the mosquitos, but you don't see any birds afterwards. Actually, one just came by. Think they use kerosene plus something else.

Similar to the author, my wife remembers she and her friends riding their bikes in the cloud behind the trucks.

The county I live in "Fremont" is one of the premier fly fishing destinations so they county won't allow mosquito spraying as it not only kills mosquitos it kills the good bugs that make fly fishing so wonderful. Guess I'd support that as I love to fly fish and love the little may fly hatches.

A simple solution that works for me :
1.Buy a cheap bottle of LEMON scented Ammonia, and a cheap bottle of LEMON scented dish washing soap.
2.Mix about 50/50 in one of those small sprayers that screws on the end of a garden hose.(you only need to fill the sprayer cup about 1/2 full.)
3.Spray your yard.
It works really well, cheap, wont hurt your grass, non toxic, lasts for several days(unless it rains)and it works....Evidently the little s.o.b.'s dont like citrus  Try it, it works.

OMG, Can you imagine going out on the town and waking up the next morning with that sitting at your breakfast table saying good morning hun?
BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right smack into the wall trying to escape.
Man, I don't feel good. I'm afraid to go to sleep now, for fear she will show up in my dreams.
