my new radiator cap

Post by ezernut9mm »

got the 2n/8n/9n hood ornament on my 61 today. even managed to get it painted and j.b. welded on. even though i checked about ten times, i still managed to mess up indexing it. it is not quite straight.

Bitchen.. That Looks Great Painted Chris. Look's Like You Ditched Old John Brown, Just As Well. This Place Is Littered With His Likeness, You Can't Hardly Walk Around Topeka Without Tripping Over A Statue Or Painting Of That Guy. That Being Said, I Still Would Have Liked To See Him Clutching A Fifth Of Bourbon.

i don't know why, but that color doesn't photograph very well. i think it looks better in person.

one of my customers is a plating shop that does both commercial and piece work. i have only been going there for about two months and am just now getting to know the guys in the shop.
i asked a guy named "bub" if he could pinch weld my cap to the ornament because the jb weld was not doing its thing.
he said sure and laughed his ass off when he saw what i was wanting.
anyway, he didn't just weld it, he plated it too and wouldn't take a dime in return.

check it out. the pics suck though.
