brake line / fuel line / wire clips

Post by azratrod »

so i couldnt find repop fuel line clips, brake line clips, or wiring clips. so i bought clips from totally stainless. i got double clips to run the brake lines and fuel lines together along the frame. i also got some singles for the wiring. i know they are a little fancy. but they will look great against the gloss black on the frame and there safer then old rusty original clips. sometimes you have to make a few exceptions when it comes to safety.

clutch linkage with heim joints

Post by azratrod »

so we need to modify the clutch linkage a little. actually shorten it and add heim joints. i blasted the rod and now we are going to shorten the rod and then put a couple nice threads on each end. one end will get just a standard 3/8" heim. this is the end that goes up to the clutch pedal and attaches to it. the other end of the rod will also get a 3/8" heim but it will have a bolt through it. this bolt will attach to the clutch.

the rod with the heim. the 2 bent ends on the rod will be cut off. then the rod will be shortened and threaded.

steering box mounted

Post by azratrod »

got the 66 steering box cleaned, painted, and mounted. here a couple pictures.

Image

Image

had to go to a wrecking yard to find the 3 bolts for the steering box. they were still being cleaned when i took these pictures.

the other hardware will all be either grade 8 or stainless

the mounting plate was bill w.'s who lent it to us so we could have steve at industrial chassis make us one. he actually made a few so they could be sold if anyone is interested in running this type of steering set-up.

hood finished been punched and back home

Post by azratrod »

so i picked up the hood today. it look awsome! 84 louvers on each side. thats a total of 168. here are a few pictures of the hood as it sits today. it needs a little hammer and dolly work. then back to the blaster for a lite touch up.

if you look just right you can see how the louvers are angled just slightly to run with the angle of the hood peak. its hard to tell with the swirls that the sander made in the primer
