one piece window kit...

Post by Casey 65 »

Has anyone seen a one piece window kit to lose the vent windows for our slicks? I'm still pondering chopping the top and the kit would make the chop a lot easier if I didn't have to rework the vent windows...

Shawn put one in his 64 - more of a job than it looks like. He doesn't come around much but I can drop him your email Gerry and have him get a hold of you. I think he has posted on it in the past - try a search too you will find it if he did.

Gerry I am almost certain Shawn got his at this place
http://www.johnsf100.com/
but i don't think they list them (or maybe even carry them) any more.

He had to do some relocation work on his hinge bolts as I recall.

Gerry, I am considering a top chop on my new truck. Maybe both you guys could come here and we could do them both at once. Tools for the job - I got tools. One of the best ways to cut down the windshield is to mask it with duct tape and sand blast it - I have a big compressor and a blaster here too. You bring the truck - beer and seals and we should be good. Even got room to stay over if it's a 2 day job.

Well, after some thinking I am going to sticking with my Uni and I don't want it chopped. I think a top chop with the LWB would look proportionately off. If you want to do yours here that is still cool with me and if Darrell wants to come help with roof hacking genius of course cool too.
I have my Uni in the garage though and as of right now the whole roof is bare metal and I am stripping more so we may need to wait til spring after I get some coating on it.

Jerry, check and make sure the windows for the one piece glass is not tempered, otherwise you will have to buy new glass from the glass shop.
