let's just pretend for a minute...

The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

Yep Shackle flip works on the rear as well - I didn't mention that one cause you have a handle on that one.
That front axle flip is a pretty slick setup, if I had not gotten my monos for an outstanding price I would have gone that way.
I originally pulled leaves from the front. It's a do able setup but I don't think is wise for long term use.
When I mess with a spring pack I am usually more trying to tune the ride quality than lower it, you of course get some drop but the others are far better options for adjusting ride height.

Wish I'd read that before I did my rear monos!

Do you have any pics of the springs themselves or the process?

unfortunately i do not have pics of the process...never think of doing something like that while im working on the truck...im just worried about getting it done, you know.

when i did my rears i had the advantage of having the bed off my pickup because i was putting in a mustang tank under the bed. pretty straight forward process...just make sure when you take them off you have your wheels chocked. don't need the undue stress on the drive shaft and tranny with the rear end being loose.

the fronts were a little trickier. again, make sure the wheels are chocked and you have the front axle stabilized pretty well. lots of liquid wrench and hopefully you have some impact tools. also remember you cannot take as much out of the front springs because of the extra engine weight.

i like the way it all turned out overall. but this spring i'll actually be notching the rear frame to accommodate another couple inches lower. i'm a sucker for 'taildragging' trucks

Did you reverse the eyes too?

Thanks

I did not reverse the eyes. The only reason for that is to get maybe another inch lower. I got all I could out of the rears so reversing the eyes was not necessary....same with the frnt
