Making progress... new dash pad and radio installed (pics)

Post by qwertyd10n »

Good day everyone,

Before I get going with my new engine build, I figured I better wrap up a few things I already had on the go... so, I managed to get my new dash pad installed last weekend and now the new radio head unit this weekend. Don't mind the mess below the dash... that's still to be dealt with.

What my dash looked like before:

What it looks like now:

I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out when I decided to attach the aluminum plate I made to cover the monstrous hole in my dash with four screws, but I think it actually matches how the big circular speedo is attached to the dash:

I painted the aluminum plate the same Wimbledon White colour as I did the main dash... and I even think the ribbing on the radio bezel matches the original dash:

Now I'm back to my transfer case swap...

Cheers,
Dion

That does look good! GREAT infact. Good job at covering that hole and I agree it fits in well with the dash!

Looks great Dion!I agree with ya on the ribbing of the radio going with the dash bezel. An A-1 cleanup of a garage door opening. :thumright:

I like it. Where did the ribbed plate come from?

Thanks for the positive feedback... That always helps fuel the fire!

The radio and bezel are from RetroSounds... Not specifically for a Slick, but a universal one I made work.

Cheers,
Dion

Wow! What did they use a shape charge to open up the dash!
I think what you've done looks fantastic.
