Big storm + big pine = poor slick

sounds like a plan to me and just think of all the other parts you will have.... you might even be able to sell a few to make some $'s back....
That doesn't sound like a bad price for the top and I am in agree-ance with Lance.... Just keep up with them and make sure it is done to your satisfaction and that the doors fit.... keep us up on it Gregg....

part of me says take my cash and buy a welder and air compressor and a new shelter, save up to do the roof job at another time. (but in the mean time weld in the floor pans and fix the bed)

part of me says save a little more, do the roof then wait to buy the welder and compressor later (still have to do floor pans and bed and paint)

part of me says buy the $800 64 and fix it up a little at a time and save then use the 64 to do all the cab/truck hauling back and forth to the shop, then sell off the 64 and recoup the cost of the new roof job.

A junk yard near me said $150 to come and cut a roof off their slicks and haul it away. I dont have a daily driver truck to put the roof in the bed or a trailer to pull behind my Jeep liberty. Uggggg.

not enough funds for the '64 and the $150 roof?? If so you are not alone... but if you can the idea of driving a Slick to haul parts for a slick would be cool... as long as the floor isn't damaged, it might be an idea... fix the floors while saving for the roof swap... but have the roof parts ready to go.... who knows, by the time the funds arrive you might feel comfortable enough to do it yourself...

ultimately it is your decision and I think we will all back you one way or another.... keep us informed...

i could do the 64 and the spare roof. the whole cutting and welding a roof has me outside my comfort zone.

Gregg, just watched the video with my kids, the both kindof yelled when they saw it, they thought it was ours at the bodyshop.
Real shame, but imho if you step back and look at it real good, I think it's going to be easier or better to reroof her then to replace the truck for all the time and effort you already have into her.

im going to have a new roof put on in the spring and keep going. It was about 4 weeks from being to where I wanted it, safe and drivable, not a show truck but a decent driver.
I did just pick up a 1992 F250 seat for $50. It's red but i'll cover it. no rips and good springs.

Don't give up on it, fix the roof when you can and keep going with other stuff in the mean time.

yeah I didn't even haggle on the price since i thought $50 was a fair deal. has the headrests too. Just swap the sliders and put it in, but i heard I needed washers, so I'll have to do that too. It also has two bolts on the front of the bench seat, i assume this is for some kind of cup holder or something? CB mount?
