Me too. Part of the family. Enjoy your time and hopefully it won't be too painful for him.

I lost my Golden a couple of years ago, we had him for 14 yrs. I still miss him from time to time, especially when I go on my Sunday morning drives in the old Bronco, he would always go with me, even if I had to pick him up and put him in the seat. He always seemed to have a smile on his face when we went for a ride. He liked riding in the Slick too, he could get a lot more comfortable setting in Reba.

we just lost our 14 1/2 year old lab/newfoundland last month. he was the last one that we had who moved here with us. i could not even post about it at the time.

we have one that is going on 13 and 3 that turn 12 on the 1st of August. they are still in good shape for their age but i worry about them more all the time.

As my dad used to say, somewhere there was a horse that died a painful death from terminal constipation due to missing a key part of its anatomy.

Keep doing what you're doing, spending time with him, making him comfortable and taking lots of pictures!!! You will have no regrets later.
After time heals you a little, you will be able to look at the pictures and smile.
I lost my main show horse after 25 years of owning him in December and I lost my husband of 8 years in May. Need someone to talk to, I'm here.

Lost our first to an aggressive cancer. I bleeping HATE cancer.

We decided after diagnosis there would be no more rules. Misbehaving (and there was very little) was to be viewed with humor and not annoyance. You want food that's bad for you? Here ya go. Lots of quiet walks. Lots of photos. My heart goes out to you.

Loosing a dog hurts. I had a mutt that I got when I was 14 and had her from 6 weeks old. She lived her last five years on the 500+ acre farm we rented. No chain, came in and out of the house as she pleased, and welcomed home my two sons when they where born. She was family. She stayed active and never slowed down. We got her a puppy one day for a companion. H was a Black Lab/Great Dane mix. She babied him like her own. One day she didn't come around and Moose (her puppy) was moping around. She had gone off to die. It sure was a sad week.

I lost my the best dog I've ever had a few months ago to a snake bite. She was nine years old. I still really miss her. I can not imagine how hard it would be to watch them fall apart. Good luck man.
So good lookin' that I've attracted an international stalker.
