Walked over today, you guy's got me a little interested in finding out if it was truly a ranger, or a f100. The owner who is also part of our local car club is out of town so i didnt get to talk to him, but on the floor next to the slick is a nice grill, and front clip off a 66. behind the longbed slick is a red shortbox off another one, which he recently sold the cab off... the floors arn't so great, ill prob get him to pull it out this summer, or maybe well get the 34 ford coupe out. but anyways from what i think its an f 100. but i do believe the other cab was a ranger....

Body code F 81 is Red bucket seats. It appears it is a Ranger. Keep me informed as to the disposition of this truck. I would like to get it in the Ranger Registry.

66 uses a hanging pedal for F100 and F250 2 wheel drives.
65 may or may not have a hanging pedal, all depends on the vin.

Are they interchangeable? I would much rather have the hanging type on my '65.
The 65 and the 66 use the same mounting holes on the firewall. Also the same cable to the carb. Then just fill the holes in the floor from the 65 pedal.

Gas Mileage? What's that?

E is the Trim, meaning the seats and interior. For 65 this is Red woven plastic and red vinyl with foam cushion.
81 is conventional cab.
All split bed slicks are Body 81
All unis are Body 66
Ranger package could even be had in crew cabs.

So the seats of a true Ranger were only offered in Black, Red and Parchment colors? Interesting........
Didn't a buyer have to order the Custom Cab package too if he/she wanted the Ranger package?
If the above is so, then that would mean the only things different from a Custom Cab truck versus a Ranger would be the bucket seats, the console, the 'Ranger' side emblem and a noise-damping fuel tank cover, correct?
