Decided to sell the '61

Sold it about a month ago. Sad to see it go but found it a good home.

But found this little beauty for sale: 61 Merc short box, 429 auto. Can get it for what I made on the 61. Needs gas tank but runs good supposedly. Taking a look in the next day or 2.

looks like a decent uni to start with. too bad about having to sell the other 61 though.

Unfortunately we moved to a house with 2 parking spots. One for the car and one for the 66. I could have stored the '61 somewhere but I'd never get to go outside and work on it, I'd have to go get it whenever I wanted to drive it etc...

However, if I get the Uni, I might have to sell the 66 as well?

The pain of moving from the acreage, my yard now is about the size of a large burial plot, and the Dog has gained 10 lbs from lack of exercise

Yea, i feel your pain ... big time .... went from 5 acres, 2 car garage, 20x30 shop and a poll barn to 3 acres oversized two car garage, added another separate garage ..... to 1/3 acre, broken down garage tore down and built a 40x30 shop ... only to move once more to a 1/2 acre, no garage place. I am able to use my in laws old shop however it's 4 miles away and he uses it too and has definate restrictions. Don't get me wrong he has been more than generous, however it's hard to get over there nites and very hard to go back to working in "dad's garage"! I have 3-64 Fords (1 for sale), 3-Ford trucks (62, 89-for sale, 2001) and my younger daughter's 87 Monte SS. (My older daughter's 71 Mustang is stored in my dad's garage). He feels pretty strongly that a person doesn't need more than one car. Possibly two if he's wealthy enough.

Hang in there, hang tough, even if you have to store one for a year or two.

Sweet! Which fortunate member came up with your 61? If he wasn't one it should have been part of the deal.

DCarr, the truck was sold with the Website sticker in the rear window and a full rundown about the site from me. I wouldn't doubt He's lurking around the site like I did when I first heard of it. He knows about the wealth of info on here so sure He'll say hi soon.

Mark, when you saw the add a few weeks ago, I think he was at $5000. Now it's at $3500 and I'm sure I can get it for better than that. Depends on condition though.

Seconded. I spotted that on kijiji too and I would be suspicious of the paint and underlying bodywork. Looks fairly straight though, with good glass and a nice grille. Considering what I have into mine I imagine you'd be much further ahead!

My advice is to inspect the torque box and check the vin plate to ensure it's a legit Merc before you buy. Good luck!
