Pictures are poor but I too have yet to see this in good light

Just get the slick going, quit messing around with other projects, and burn the crushed velvet.

You going to use it for a daily driver?

You really gonna try a 3.00:1 FoMoCo 9" behind a 5.0L with a T-5 ? I'm just curious about the set up.

I run 3.00s with my 460 & it's great down here in the BiKiNi where it's a bit flat, but I cook up over 540 ft/lb torque in the midrange. Seems to me you are gonna have that engine working a tad hard with that combo.

Anyway congrats on the new toy. . . .

That is a nice truck.

I would not go with a 3.00:1 rear gear with a 5.0L and a T-5. At 60 mph you will only be at 1400 rpm. You will have to down shift or dump a bunch of fuel in it to accelerate. You want to be around 1800 or more at 60mph so you can pass or speed up.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll try to get some better pics up if i ever see daylight again! Man the days are sure short right now. I can't imagine what Ice goes through with the 2 hours of sunlight they get up there.

JC, I love the velvet. It makes me feel all tingley as I sit on it with my polyester leisure suit

Pete, that rear end was just something that I have kicking around. This truck will not be a screamer by any means. However, that being said, I would still like to enjoy the pep of the HO 302 and the stick. Fuel economy notwithstanding, I do think that I should look for a little lower gearing. I am very excited about the 3:25 gears that my slick has. I think that big brute 460 will work quite nicely with them. One day my friend, I do want to see the mystical beast that you have created. We have good friends that live in Cocoa Beach so I might just knock on your door someday

, my slick needs the love to get her on the road for summer. Update: the wiring project has begun, my soldering gun is warming up, hope to make smoke soon. Still would like her to be in the exhaust shop in March. I have to haul her 2 hours to get it done, hope the roads won't be to slushy or salty!
