I actually have one, a 1965 F100 Longbed. Had the same terrible mirrors before too! Came with a 351 I think. (now a punched out 390 )

I have a 1962 uni, and I have seen photos of other owners engine bays. It seems that my intake manifold is on the opposite side as most people's. It is a straight 6.

Any info on this? Could it be a specific engine, like a tractor engine/model/version?
