Really looks nice, you do good work! Is that your yellow mach 1 in the background? I have a 73 Mach 1 I bought new when I was 17, looks like we have the same kind of taste in vehicles.

Re: shortened my steering column well kinda lol
Just got through cutting 4 inches out of my column, using a 72 column in my truck. Really wasn't hard, just had to disassemble and cut the shift tube and weld, same on the outer tube. The steering shaft I was able to remove the end from the shaft that bolts to the steering box and drill it out to fi...

Re: Newbie - 62 Build
Bought them already prebent from Art Morrison. Found them in a write up in Classic Trucks September 2012 magazine showing them putting them in a 60 F100. Here is a link to the page with them.

Parking Brake
Anyone replace the pull parking brake on a 62 with some other type? I am smoothing my firewall and want to remove it from protruding through it. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Re: Newbie - 62 Build
Has to be from a V6 to bolt up to the 302, 5.0. Bolts right up but you have to have a trans controller to run it, bought a controller from Baumann that should do the trick. Bought this trans years ago, it came from a 2002 F150 with I think 22k miles, it's just been sittin around waiting it's turn. L...

Re: Newbie - 62 Build
Few pic's of work on the firewall today. Stripped the rest of the interior pieces and removed all remaining wiring. Going to install new harness from EZ Wire. http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz207/mhen711/Brownie/002_zps2addad68.jpg http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz207/mhen711/Brownie/004-1_z...

Re: Under bed gas tank swa[
Nice job! I am having to raise my bed floor due to the changes in the frame to lower the truck. I think I will have room to run tubing under the bed floor to plumb up a side fill access in the side of the bed. Think the mustang tank will work best. I have a old tank out of my 73 Mach 1 to fabricate ...

Under bed gas tank swap
Any one have any info of a under bed gas tank swap? Maybe one from some late model car/truck that has a in tank fuel pump? Got tired of smelling gas in the cab all these years so when I pulled the tank this time for the update took it to the junk pile!

Re: Newbie - 62 Build
Rebuilt a 96 Explorer 5.0 roller motor with GT 40 heads, used Ford Racing E303 roller cam but thats about it. The motor has factory serpintine belt system so that is good. Putting in a 4R70W trans out of a 2002 F150 and will control it with a US Shift controler from Baumann Electronics. Installed a ...

Newbie - 62 Build
Hi guys, new to this site but had my 62 for 25+ years, got it from my father who bought it in 1965. This is the second time I have built it, first was in 1989. Really like this old truck, will be better than ever this time around. http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz207/mhen711/Brownie/NewImage.jpg
