Re: Slick 60's gathering in Michigan
We are about an hour and a half south of GR. We would be interested in that if it came true. Like they said, keep us posted. We are going to be at this year's F100 nationals in Pigeon Forge next weekend also Jeff. I think you were the one who had something in a different post about being down there ...

Re: Shifting problems 1963 Three on the Tree
Just bought one so I am $250 lighter and a day short. I work nights so I am headed to bed. I can take pics of our 64 and get them to you tomorrow evening if that works for you.

Re: F-100 supernationals
My son and I intend to be there with our '64 project that we are just finishing at the last minute. Somewhat of ratrod/barn find but it runs and drives. We went last year on the Harley, but that's gone now so we will be towing the truck down and driving it around Pigeon Forge.

Re: Shifting problems 1963 Three on the Tree
I am absolutely NOT an expert or even an intelligent novice, but, just this weekend I went through the same problem with our 64 three on the tree. I had an old Ford guy come help me out. Try shifting as though you are going into reverse but, at the last little bit try to slide it back into second an...

Re: great smoky mountain f100 run
Danny, just read your post and the attachment for the post about last year's show. We came in on Thursday night last year and went to the show/swap meet on Friday. I don't know what happened at the front end but, there was definitely a show on Friday. It was our first trip and we did it on a motorcy...

Re: Barn find quality start up
Ok, I disappeared for a week or so. Sorry about that. Work and life gets in the way some times. Anyhow, thanks to everyone for the suggestions about getting us running and started. WE HAVE LIFT OFF!! So to speak. My points gap was off. I am much better at doing that now. Also we found that the distr...

Re: Barn find quality start up
Interesting. I had no idea. I am fairly confident that the motor is a 223. I hope so, everything I have bought is for a 223 anyway and I was told that it was a 223. Seems like maybe the vin identified it as a 223 also. I am suprised on the grille and vallance. Good info to know though. Thank You.

Re: Barn find quality start up
Bird55, the vin claims it is a 1964 and so does the title. It has been pointed out to me by a couple others that it doesn't look like a 64. I am not sure what makes it look different because I have seen other 64s that don't look different to me but, I am still learning. The fuel lines have all been ...

Re: great smoky mountain f100 run
Dont know if you found what you were looking for yet or not. What I know is that the F100 Nationals are supposedly scheduled for May 17th-May 18th at the Grand Hotel and Resort in Pigeon Forge. There is a website, F100Supernationals.com I think. Not very informative and doesnt seem to have the links...

Re: Barn find quality start up
Iceman, the carb is a single barrel with no noticeable external markings. This is a 223. The carb was rebuilt and handed to me in a box. It had not been re-attached after the rebuild. I will continue to check all the fittings and caps. I have tried with the choke open and closed. I am not a good mec...

Barn find quality start up
I have thrown out a few posts. We have a '64 F100 with a 223 in it. The truck has not been driven in 20 years. It has passed owner to owner and I have no idea what the history is. We replaced plugs, wires, points, cap, rotor, fuel lines, fuel pump, and cleaned the tank. The carb has been rebuilt by ...

Re: 223 starter drive install
We got it. We squeezed the drive down with a bench vise and then slowly tapped the pin in until it was on. Not conventional, but it worked!

Re: Dual reservoir Master with Booster
Okay all set to make this change as we are trying to make this barn find quality 64 F100 road worthy in time for Pigeon Forge in May. Bought a new dual master cylinder for a 1967 F100 and a brake light pressure switch. Right, doesn't work that way. How do we hook up the brake lights to this conversi...

223 starter drive install
Anybody have any tips or easy ways to install the starter drive on the armature shaft of the starter? I have one of those shop manuals on CD and tried their guideline for placing the drive in a vise, insert the armature shaft in the drive and then lift on the starter to compress the drive so that yo...
