Pull 79 250 arms and spindles and they will then be all the same width front and rear. New 2.5" spring perches are 30 bucks for a pair. A 28 spline is asking for trouble with that kind of torque no matter what anyone says. It is the weak link just waiting for the pin to be removed. Upgrade to t...

For a whopping 8 bucks each for new rubber replacements why bother?. They will last another forty years.

Till you have custom oil impregnated bronze bushings made and the bolt it will be five times the cost of rubber.

Is it acting like the clutch is not pushed in? Look at the firewall while some one pushes the clutch. Fords of this era are noted to separate at the firewall and bracket the clutch mounts to and flex. My 86 did this and i had to drive 200 miles without a clutch. To fix it the firewall needs to be re...

Power Vacuum assist brakes were not available in 65 from the factory. It was added after purchase. You will need to ascertain just which booster is installed IE Bendix, Airheart ect. Any boosted master from a later year will work based on bore and volume for drum drum brakes. select the year you nee...

Re: What happends when you leave your truck parked around go

What happens when you leave your truck parked around goats? They eat the dash. I noticed that the dash on the Ranger that came by my house today had a perfect dash pad except for the left and right corners of it. I ask her what happened to it. She had left her down windows and it rained, she opened...

If the color is special order there will be no tag color stamped on the warranty plate. The DSO is a six digit with the last four being the special order consecutive invoice. The 1254 will cover the 16 inch wheels. The truck was special ordered by the dealer. It looks like a nice documented survivor...

E is the Trim, meaning the seats and interior. For 65 this is Red woven plastic and red vinyl with foam cushion.

81 is conventional cab.

All split bed slicks are Body 81

All unis are Body 66

Ranger package could even be had in crew cabs.

They will only work if the distance is correct. Was the head milled, was the block faced? All this is where the .040 comes in as it makes up for the material removed. You also need to know the thickness of the head gasket as it needs to be compensated for. In a stock engine it can be a little loose ...

As no 65 f 250 ever had power steering from the factory it is possibly why they look at you like a deer in the headlights. You need to pull the part number off the main body and that will tell what year at least it was introduced and go from there. Is it bendix 66 to 68.5 or a ford box 68.5 to 79? G...

Typical shop build of a stainless system will run well over $1500 if it is fitted and TIG welded. Mandrel bending on the stainless can be tricky and most shops may not attempt it.

Speedway and others sell 304 tubing and u bends. Be prepared for the cost.

Go back and get the straps off a donor and drill the holes.

Do not drill the axle. They retaining hooks were discontinued for a reason.
