I have added self adjusting brakes to Ford trucks dating back to 1956. NAPA has the adjuster kits in left and right.
I got a complete spring kit from NAPA as well. I usually look up the part numbers on the web before I go to NAPA,
it saves them time trying to look in those books.

I'm back, with a 63 Unibody
I sold my 1966 f 250 a few years ago, and now I have a 1963 Unibody . It came with no motor or transmission, and I have transplanted a 351C with 4V Closed chamber heads into the truck. I put a different motor in my 1973 Mach 1 Mustang, and had this motor left over. It is mostly stock, new 4 bl carb,...

Re: Six pack on a 66
He had a 3 car garage, and mostly full of stuff. Stacks of boxes, shelves, mostly auto parts, and a 1950's Dodge truck, with the original painted sign from a local Dodge dealership. Their original parts truck, all original.

Re: Six pack on a 66
The intake looks really clean, no cracks, like that but with 3 small air filters with chrome tops. Paid $75 from an old collector. His garage was full of parts, not sure what they all were. There is no automatic trans kickdown on these carbs, but I have never hooked it up on my C-6 anyways.

Six pack on a 66
I found a six-pack ( or what did Ford call it) intake, with the three 2bl carbs, and 3 small air cleaners, for a 390. It would fit on the rebuilt 352, or I could put a hotter 390 in the truck, and the 6 bl set-up. The carbs look pretty simple, manual choke on the center carb. Has anyone used one of ...

Re: engine/tranny swap question
I just put a C-6 in my 66 F-250, that was an easy swap. Doesn't sound so easy on your truck, as you have to add a crossmember for the engine to mount on. Who makes these aftermarket crossmembers?

Re: engine/tranny swap question
You will likely need some F E engine mounts, shouldn't be too hard to find. I did the C-6 swap, behind my 352, the automatic is longer, and you can relocate the trans mount . The driveshaft will need to be shorter, trans cooler lines added, but a real easy swap. I upgraded to power brakes, and used ...

Re: Newbie = dumb question
Some years of Ford trucks have a bump running along the side, they are called bumpsides. The Dentsides have a dent on the sides. The Slicks don't have the bump or the dent, maybe some nice chrome trim.

Starting 352 in cold weather
Well, it was a fine day in Canada, today, only -6 degrees (Celsius), and I was waiting for the football game to start ( The Grey Cup ), and I thought I would try and start the 352 in the 1966 f-250. I just rebuilt the 352 this summer and have never run it in the winter. I wanted to add some antifree...

I put a fan shroud on the engine today. When I was timing the motor, it is hard to see the fan, and a shroud will help cooling , too. I used a junkyard shroud from a newer truck, and it covereg the rad exactly. The mounting lugs were a bit different, but I drilled new holes on the side of the rad fl...

The transmission mount can be moved back on the frame to suit. Just drill holes in the frame when it lines up right. The 70's pickups had 460 engines, you can get the motor mounts and perches from one of them. The mounts bolt right up, and the perches should work, and you can modify them if needed. ...

I installed some headlight relays today. I viewed the link in the tech section, bought some parts , and started in on it. I used one wire from the battery to power both relays. I put in a fuse and then soldered in a 2 way junction. I assumed black was low beam and red was high beam. It doesn't matte...

I'm getting a pair of headlight buckets from Iceman. Thanks Iceman. I put in the headlight relays today. They are between the battery and the radiator, easy to get at . Those original wires sure are small. I used some 12 gauge wire, and put a fuse in the power wire before the relays. The box of fuses...

I am hoping to get this 66 slick on the road soon. just a few more details , like lights, and inspection. I have the air breather hooked to clean air. I am using a 74 air cleane...

Headlight install question
Does anyone know where to get new headlight mountings? I need the bucket, the ring and some adjusters. I only have one and it is very rusty. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx129/Sixfootfour_photos/001-2.jpg It is missing one tab for mounting the ring, too. Is there any reproductions of these, or...

I pulled the truck out of the garage to clean it. Motor and transmission is working. I need to get it inspected, brakes, steering are OK. It needs a windshield, and the headlights. The headlights were missing when I got the truck. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx129/Sixfootfour_photos/001-1-1.j...
