Here are the pics after sandblasting and phosfo(phosphoric acid)it eats away rust and changes the chemical structure of rust back to iron. Extra work but worth it In the long run. Well got the wood out of the bed. There are no cross bars under the wood. Apparently when the original bed rusted out the cross bars went with it. It really only smokes on hard acceleration. It does not skip it cranks very easily barely turn the key and it fires riht up idles as long as you will let it it just smokes some. I'm sure there is some wear on the engine it's old but if I can curb the smoking that would be great.
